808 is offering our Chromakey Cyc Studio at a mere $75 per hour. That's right... no half day rates, no full day rates. You only pay for what you use. That's $75 per hour for as many hours as you use and no overtime penalty charges either. So your eleventh hour doesn't cost any more than your first hour. Need a studio outside of the normal 8am to 6pm day. Not a problem.

CELEBRITY ECLIPSE CEREMONY
 808 Post and Production was tapped again to be part of a successful Celebrity Cruises naming ceremony aboard the beautiful Celebrity Eclipse. HKM Productions asked us along for the third consecutive time in order to produce the opening video along with many other video elements for on-board monitors, in-room channels, and even a closed-circuit ship-to-shore broadcast. The HKM production crew fought through flight cancellations caused by volcanic ash and still managed to put on the best show yet.
The opening video was shot for the first time with a Canon 7D and again edited on-board using Avid Media Composer. With video DSLR shooting quickly becoming a viable alternative, we felt it was important to add this workflow to our knowledge base. The camera has the ability to produce some amazing shots, and we are looking forward to working with DSLR video more in the future.
AVID ANNOUNCES UPDATES
 Avid recently announced the release of Media Composer 5. The update comes with a long list of new features. Each combine to push Avid to the forefront of video editing. There are a lot of really exciting new features, but these really got our attention:
- Directly access and edit RED files through AMA, without transcoding.
- Work natively with QuickTime video formats, including Apple ProRes and H.264.
- Mix and match frame sizes and aspect ratios Ñ in addition to formats, frame rates, and resolutions Ñ in the same timeline.
- Natively access and edit 4:2:2 MPEG-2 media from the new Canon cameras using AMA.
We'll keep you posted with our thoughts on the new version when the upgrades are installed.
SMS DELIVERED TO COMEDY CENTRAL
 Maslen Entertainment has produced a hilarious episodic animated series for Comedy Central. Shmitty, McFunkle & Stump is the brainchild of the uber-genius John Masse and expertly crafted by a talented team of animators led by Adam Lawrence. 808 Post was entrusted with the mastering process. Our neighbors, The Dog and Pony Show handled the voiceover and sound design.
