Upgrades All Around

We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes upgrading all of our edit suites. In two suites you’ll find the shiny 5.0 version of AVID Media Composer.

If AVID Symphony Nitris is your thing, we have two more suites with fresh 5.0 versions ready to rock.

One more thing… You will find the latest version of Final Cut Studio, including Final Cut Pro 7, in our two Apple-based suites.

With all of this great new software, it seemed like the perfect time to more than double the amount of shared storage available.

JVC Las Vegas Seminar

LVVA and Avid Users Group Meet-Up

808 Post and Production was the scene for an evening of education and networking when the Las Vegas Videographers’ Association and the Las Vegas Avid Users Group got together on Wednesday evening, August 26th. Over 60 people turned out for the joint meeting which included presentations on some of the latest video cameras available. Major vendors making presentations for the evening included JVC, Panasonic, Sony, and Apple. Hot topics were the latest in non-tape HD formats and Red Workflow.

Richard DePaso, President of the Las Vegas Videographers’ Association, thought that the entire event was a great success and a great opportunity for the two groups to get together and do a little networking. We are all looking forward to more such events.

808 is offering our Chromakey Cyc Studio at a mere $75 per hour. That’s right… no half day rates, no full day rates. You only pay for what you use. That’s $75 per hour for as many hours as you use and no overtime penalty charges either. So your eleventh hour doesn’t cost any more than your first hour. Need a studio outside of the normal 8am to 6pm day. Not a problem.

Need a studio for several days – special multi-day rates are available.

Digitize Your World

808 Post knows that a lot of you producers like to edit your own footage on your own systems, but you don’t own decks for all of the formats that you might need and you don’t want to invest your funds in buying them. Well, 808 Post has a plan to help you with your footage. We have the decks and we have the edit systems. We’ll digitize your footage for you. All you need to do is bring us a portable hard drive and the tapes. Let us know how you need it digitized and we’ll make it happen for $50 an hour of digitizing time.

808 Crew Get Their Sea Legs

The 808 Crew is setting sail for HKM Productions on the launch of Celebrity Cruises, “Equinox of the Seas”. A mid-summer night’s dream? No, Goodfellow, it’s the newest world-class luxury cruise ship, “Equinox of the Seas”. HKM Productions of Las Vegas has enlisted the experienced sea-going veterans at 808 to produce media on-board the ship.

“We are very excited to be asked back on board the most luxurious ships in the world! HKM produces world class video, and we are very happy that they invite us back year after year,” says Mark Ott, Production Manager at 808 Post and Production. The crew sets sail from London in mid-July.
